Good Kids Films to Watch

When you want to spend quality time with your child, you should consider some good kids films to watch. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Truly Scrumptious, a young pixie, falls in love with the widowed Caractacus Potts, the inventor's son. Baron Bomburst is a villain in this film, but we'll get to that later.

Despite the lack of memorable songs, Chitty is fine for young viewers. However, it may not hold up to adult scrutiny. Despite its run time of over two hours, this film will excite young viewers. Although the end is not the most satisfying, young viewers will have plenty of visions to dream about.

The Dark Crystal

The story takes place in a world where dinosaur-like creatures known as Skeksis rule the land. The powerful crystal they use to grant power and life has been cracked, and they are intent on destroying the Gelflings, a peaceful race of beings raised by gentle monster mystics. The last Gelfling, Jen, is on the run and meets Kira, a mysterious young woman who belongs to a community of "Podlings."

As a parent, I've rented this movie for my children and I'm glad I did. It was an excellent introduction to symbolism. Despite the name, The Dark Crystal was a little darker than my child's typical children's movie experience. Despite its darker themes, it didn't talk down to me or underestimate my children's intelligence. In fact, I'm glad we went together, because the movie features an awesome Skeksis!

 

Aladdin

Aladdin is a classic Disney animated film with a love story, great music, and a genie who teaches an important lesson about honesty. It's also a fun family movie thanks to its genie, good characters, and magic carpet. Here are three reasons why this movie is one of the best movies for kids to watch. The genie makes the film fun, the story is engaging, and there's a strong performance by Robin Williams.

Robin Williams's performance as the evil vizier Jafar is an underrated highlight of the film. In his role as the Genie, Robin Williams does his best impression of a famous actor. The entire family will enjoy this fun movie. This animated family movie has two sequels - King of Thieves and Return of Jafar - and a TV series. It's a must-watch for all ages.

The story starts with the father reading a book to his son, who reluctantly follows along. The father's book turns out to be a Don Quixote-length nightmare. A later abridgement of the story contains a happy ending that is more believable. The original book has many chapters about the construction of the Princess's gown, which is a fascinating story.
